Today, YouTube Thursdays challenge to appear on-camera ends. If you missed out on the contest, stay tuned. You can count on more surprise challenges in the future with more little rewards to bribe encourage you.
And the winner is...the real Debbie Reynolds. You just have to love Debbie’s panache and creativity. Plus her warning to all of us - “Look out YouTube Thursdays, you’re going to be seeing a lot more of me!” Debbie is still a newbie, but definitely a newbie Rockstar in Active Rain.
If you read Debbie’s blogs, including a recent post - “ I’m going to Rain camp, what do I want in my lunchbox?” - you’ll discover her fun side and sense of humor. She promises to bring that fun to her video. Isn’t that just perfect?
Speaking of Rockstars, Runner-up extraordinare is Jerry Newman. I appreciate his bravery as he eagerly took me up on my YouTube Thursdays challenge of an on-camera appearance. After all, I gave him permission to be himself and forget about trying to be perfect. Who wants perfect anyway? Not me.
Jerry has committed to producing regular videos thanks to Anna Banana’s Going for the Gold contest. I’m proud of him. Sometimes, half the battle in reaching a goal, is actually doing something and practicing, not waiting for perfection before we start. He is being himself and authenticity is key - it will get easier and easier.
Instead of giving one Starbucks gift-card away. Debbie and Jerry have each earned a $20 Starbucks gift-card, plus a few other local Northwest treats as they were my ONLY entries. Good for them. Good things come to those who try. Thank you Debbie and Jerry for accepting my challenge - you are perfectly wonderful.
Now, I'm off to Rain Camp!
