Labor Day Weekend Things To Do
- Sun Time Watersports offers the ultimate jet boating experience with its signature boat named “Spintime.” The entire family will enjoy the thrill and excitement of RIGHT ANGLE TURNS, ACCELERATED SPEEDS, and “THE HAMILTON SPIN,” a maneuver that spins the boat 360° on its axis throwing a head high wall of water into the air. Along with providing thrills and chills, the boat is ecologically friendly with internal propellers that can’t damage sea grass or harm other forms of marine life.
- Go on a dolphin cruise out of Galveston Island. BayWatch Dolphin Tours is proud to be a family owned and operated business in Texas. They have been serving the Galveston and Houston area since 2005. Loccated on Pier 21 in front of the Harbor House Hotel, only a short distance away from the historical Strand District in Downtown Galveston. Prices only $10 Adults and $5 Children!
- Enjoy a stroll through the train yard to see locomotives and the many types of railcars that helped build the nation. Then step inside the railcars to see the opulence of an era past, the accommodations of the common traveler or the workstations in the mail cars.
- You’ve lucked out. The first Saturday of every month is Movie Nite on The Strand. This month, you can enjoy a free showing of the original 1964 “The Pink Panther” starring Peter Sellers, David Niven and Robert Wagner. Order dinner to go, bring a chair or blanket and enjoy a free movie at Saengerfest Park. Movies are shown shortly after the sun sets
- Make your way to the newely opened Pleasure Peir in Galveston! What an exciting new place to enjoy the water breezes and lovely views Galveston Island has to offer. Pleasure Pier is a great tourist attraction and it will bring jobs and money to the island. The goal is to make the pier a destination similar to Chicago's Navy Pier, the Santa Monica Pier and Coney Island's Luna Park.
