August 29th, 2012 - 41st Birthday

http://lasvegasshortsalespecialist.blogspot.com/2012/08/everything-from-here-is-gravy.html

Wow! Where do I begin. I have to be careful not to blend this post with the one I have coming next week which is an in depth look at my 2 year journey since joining KW.

I remember 11 years ago when I decided my life was over. Yep - Come on ladies, you had this day too probably. I turned THIRTY. It was the day I had dreaded my entire life. Growing up all I ever heard was how much it sucked to to old. And for some reason, in my head - it started at 30. I remember crying my eyes out that day - the entire day feeling like my life was over. I remember saying things like "Well, I've already been married. I've had kids. I've owned businesses. Really, there's nothing new to look forward to" - BOY WAS I WRONG.

Then, last year I turned 40. Not nearly as devastating. In fact, although I knew there would be some major physical side affects (and yes, let's be real, there were and they increase every day)  - I felt like life was Really JUST BEGINNING. I was excited about the potential of what the 2nd 1/2 of my life would bring. And I'm still that excited.

What the 40's bring for most of us is more freedom. The kids are generally grown or growing out of the home. I still have a 9 year old, but with family in town, and only her at home still (the other 3 girls are adults now with their own families) - we have a lot of freedom.  And if you've been married forever like I have (Ok, it feels like forever haha with 20 years in January) - it's an opportunity to rekindle a relationship. It's a chance to remember what your spouse was like BEFORE diapers, bottles, soccer games, and teenagers! It's really fun. I love this part.

ON a personal level, The year of being 40 was pretty darn magical. I fulfilled my dream of building my team to the 7th level. I wanted that more than anything. Now that I've done that, I get to choose what else I want to do while I have that business and income stream that does not require as much of me. I launched a 2nd business which was another dream of mine, to train and educate on business and lead generation. I traveled across the US over a dozen times for work. My family and I enjoyed many vacations including Disneyland 7 times, A Cruise, and many other Multiple Theme Park Adventures. And, I grew many levels as a leader.

But my favorite thing has to be my realization of how much I love to Influence Others. Next to World Domination (she says with a 1/2 grin while rubbing her hands together as if she has an evil plan) - I love to INSPIRE and INFLUENCE others to take action. I don't just want people to hear what I teach. I want them to DO something with it. To IMPLEMENT. To take ACTION.

So on my birthday, I was THRILLED to see all the custom videos, and songs, and poems, and inventive measures people took when I challenged them to Stand Out and Be Unique. I gave them a platform to get noticed and many really took it there. I had over 600 birthday wishes and was in tears MOST of the day with the sheer joy my "friends" brought to me. It was truly a Magical Day for me hearing the heartfelt stories of what my teachings have meant to people.

I have to say, although there were so many messages that were remarkable, the one that came in from my Mentor Seth Campbell (7th level team owner in Massachusetts and KW Regional Director of the Maryland/DC Region)  really struck a chord.

See I've been Soul Searching on what I want to do next. Ever since I sold my Catering and Event Company in 2004, I've been searching. Real Estate is not it. Don't get me wrong, I love my team and they are skilled and THEY love working with buyers and sellers in Las Vegas, I personally know this is not where I'm meant to spend my days. So I've been painstakingly searching for the what's next.

But Seth said it. I've already done more that most people dream of doing in a life time. So it's time to enjoy life. It's time to enjoy whatever comes next. It's time to celebrate!!!

It has been said that people spend the first part of their lives looking for success...and the second part looking for significance. It sounds to me like you have achieved...and are still achieving BOTH of those.  Continued success AND significance!
