Today there was to be 21 bodies show up for our Active Rain Meet-Up at HopDoddy’s! It is a beautiful day in Austin and only 4 showed up! Really????...…come on what does it take for those who responded to actually show up?? I know I called several and there were some good excuses..one sprained their ankle and were on their way for X-Rays and one had it down for the wrong day (thought it was tomorrow). But that still leaves 15 others who just didn’t show up..no calls or texts.
We still had a great time and even the wait person got into the act! Lauren better known as the “Burger Buster” hopped in our photo….she was kind enough to save 4 tables for us which of course we had to give up because of the no shows..we really were trying to have plenty of room for everyone!!
Russell Lewis was his usually affable self ….telling all kinds of stories...talking non-stop! We love you Russell!! I had the opportunity to visit with Scott Hayes and learn more about him ...did you know he has twin daughters who are three and he is originally from Ohio? I enjoyed getting to know Scott better!! Thanks for your time Scott.
I never met Betina Foreman and she is one busy gal! Her husband manufactures a great chip called Beanitos!! It’s a pinto Bean & Flax Chip and she gave me a bag for myself & Geno and one for my assistant Carol..we are munching as I’m writing this post…thanks Betina..they are really good!! They are sold all over Whole Foods, HEB..lots of stores..I’ll be keeping an eye out for them now.
Even with the rest of the bodies flaking out we had a great time and are determined the next Meet-Up we each will personally be responsible for 4 others to come. …even if we have to pick them up!

Dorie- I would have been there, if I lived in Austin!!!!! I mean who can resist a good burger. I know Russell and Scott from their blogs! Too bad for the those who missed it!

Russell received lots of emails..we were looking forward to a good turn out this time...it's not easy to save tables at this place and they were so accommodating!! We are also thinking the last day of the month isn't the smartest with closing etc. We are going to choose a time in the middle of the month and try again in the fall!! Just maybe we can get some more participation!!

Dorie, sad that those who SAID they were coming flaked! Last year Kristal and I worked on getting ours together, and I know I contacted over 30, some never responding at all. At least those who came, enjoyed themselves! I met Scott in New Orleans, really nice guy!
