The word makeover does not only apply to a person’s appearance or to the style of a house. It is also a word that can be used to pertain to the improvements implemented on particular city, town, or neighborhood. This 2012 Bethesda becomes a client of makeover.

Recent construction projects are expected to bring new ways of convenience and comfort to the residents. For instance, the ongoing development of Lot 31 includes the establishment of two residential towers and a parking garage. According to The Examiner, the construction results in a 20-month closure of a portion of Woodmont Avenue when the project begins on September 4.

This project is set to increase the number of housing units that are made available to residents and to qualified relocators. In an attempt to address the ever-increasing need for residential spaces, two towers are also on construction at the Woodmont Triangle.

Other important developments within Bethesda include the 17-storey residential tower known as Gallery of Bethesda. It is located at Auburn Avenue and offers a magnificent 234 apartments and more than 4600 square feet of ground floor retail space.

Another big residential development is at Woodmont Central. The project entails a 16-storey residential building comprised of 221 apartments and 15000 square feet of ground floor retail space.

Bainbridge Bethesda is another substantial project that impacts the landscape of Bethesda. The site taps a location between Fairmont and St. Elmo Avenues with proximity to Norfolk Avenue. The project formerly known as Monty erects a 16-storey residential building where 200 residential units, 30 of which are moderately-priced will be made available. Setting the atmosphere of comfort and convenience for the project for this luxury high-rise residential building are its rooftop swimming pool and garden terrace, state of the art fitness and social activity center, two-storey lobby, and cyber café.

The projects are deemed timely responses to the projection that the number of apartment and condo dwellers in Bethesda will rise from 14, 463 families to 22, 187 families – according to figures from The Examiner.

These developments are also expected to bring additional foot traffic and vehicle traffic on their respective locations.
