Full Moon

I’ve never been able to capture a good Full Moon but at 11:54 p.m. on August 31, this is what I got for the Second Full Moon in August. To me it looked like the moon was looking inside a mirror. What do you think?

2nd Full Moon

Overall, it's been a very strange day for me here in TX. How about you?

Okay ya'll... between my last comment shortly after midnight and now I've been frozen - not literally, but spooked. As I was commenting on other posts my neighbors truck alarm went off so I looked outside. I didn't see anything but the truck alarm was doing it's thing, making noises and such and then the noise stopped and all the lights were blinking for about 10 minutes before it stopped. I couldn't see anyone out there through my window, but I was peeking outside and trying to get a hold of my neighbors - which I never could reach. Then I started hearing noises around my house so I'm traveling around from room to room. Yes. I know, I should call the police but my PD dept decided to charge $50.00 if you called them and it was a false alarm. So I'm sitting up hoping nobody is out there. This is CRAZY!!!

David, thanks for howl... whoever may have been out there, I hope you scared them away! I live in a safe neighborhood, so it can't be anything to worry about - right?????

Karen, don't you wish you could have met Neil in his life time? He was truly something special and a really nice man too. Where have all the good ones gone? Who is our inspiration? As far as I'm concerned, Neil is the Man on the Moon!

Roger, I can't wait for the sun to rise. Let's hope this is going to be a safe holiday for all!

Sally & David, I'm with you. I didn't even realize it was a full moon until I started this blog post. Then I googled it to see what it said about the moon on 8/31 and that's when I received confirmation. All those ER folks can't be wrong. Teachers see it in their classrooms too. Kids act out when there's a full moon, or unusual weather conditions. Nice to hear from you!

Hi Patricia:  I just saw your comment, and tried to call you, but both numbers went to voice mail.  I have a baseball bat in my car, and if you like I can drive up and chase away the bad guys you hear... and heck... noper... I will NOT charge you $50 if it's a false alarm.

I am having a week-end false alarm special for $24.95.  Please advise...

It's all good!

Out of the nine closing scheduled today, only one didn't happen. The pay off on their mortgage was two thousand dollars higher, because their bank had to pay their taxes a few months ago. I wish they had given us the heads up. So we'll increase the loan amount to make the numbers work. They will be saving $389 per month.

Hi Karen Anne,

WOW! Karen Anne to the rescue! I guess it would have been a good idea to make sure my cell phone was plugged in or charged when I got spooked earlier.

I am so honored to know you would have come over with your baseball bat - that is so cool!  And the fact that you wouldn't even charge me $50 and you'd give me your $24.95 special is even better! I'm so glad my taxes are going for a good cause - NOT!

I think I'll go shopping today for a good old baseball bat and maybe a dozen or more baseballs just in case I need to practice.

Joe,

One of my closings that was going so smoothly from start to very close to "Clear-to-Close," got pushed back a week because the buyer's lender needs another week because the buyer didn't need the entire seller's contribution for closing costs and it would take the lender a whole week to make the adjustments. The lender was off by $1200 so she needs more time.

I never heard of anything like that, have you?

Morning Patricia they make a shotgun called the snake charmer.  It is a sawed off 410 gauge single shot and I can assure you it will get someone's attention.  They are not expensive either.  Great home defender weapon and you won't need to worry about a silly car alarm

James... you are always looking out for others. Thank you. I guess it would be okay, after all, this is TX!

Lincoln, your name should have been Lincoln, then I'd be singing, Lincoln, Lincoln, I've been thinking.... but I forgot the rest of the words! I don't know why I thought of that, but I did!

Fernando.... thank you, those were such beautiful words. I am honored. I am blessed! It's a privilege to know you and so many other great people here on ActiveRain. I hope you have a magical day without any labor at all!

I just came from looking at Andrew Mooer's moon shot.  Although different from your picture, both provide a similar mysterious feel.  I don't know why, but the whole evening last night felt mysterious!  I didn't take any moon shots, and I'm ashamed to say I had forgotten all about this being the date of the Blue Moon!  Since the moon fazes last 2 1/2 days each, I'll catch a glimpse tonight!  I like the unusual lights surrounding and reflected in your picture, Patricia!

Good Morning Pat, My pictures did not come out well. We had a wonderful pinkish to the moon as it rose.  Have a great Saturday.

Hi Patricia -

Debbie and I were walking home from dinner at 11:20 last night.  No street lights were needed as the Blue Moon was the perfect night light.  We had been watching and waiting on it to rise and were not disappointed.  It was a beautiful moon and we noticed it was still high and bright in the sky at 5:45 today.  Once in Blue Moon....until next time.

Hope you have a grand Saturday in all you do.

Hello Patricia,

what a great view... And, unfortunately, my shorts sale fell apart yesterday... After beiing approved, after my buyer's home inspection done, appraisal.. Bank just through away our deal.

I feel horrible for my buyer. I don't think it has anything to do with full moon, but unfortunately it just happend to be on the same day.

Have a great weekend.

I saw that second FULL MOON rising Friday Patricia, and it was awesome. When they are at the horizon they look so big too.

Here was a great Neil Armstrong video I found.
