What a great country, Silvia. Now, how can we use this idea in real estate?
We'll be out there, Debbie. We still have some trees. I love this time of year.
When my family immigrated to Canada, the whole family went and picked blueberries--for money. So of course I ate a lot as well and couldn't stand them for the next many many years. Now? Love them.
I guess if I was picking apples all the time I might be a little less enthusiastic too, Hella. Fortunately, I get to good side of the orchard. I just eat from it. 8=)
I have seen many apple orchards where they offer hay rides to people at a price. Pick all you want. They also offered fresh apple cider.... a real treat.
Hi Mike ... what are you thinking, it's manual labor! :-)
Apple picking season has not yet begun up here but when it does.. we are so there! We love going to the farm to pick our own - blueberries & peaches during the summer, apples & pumpkins during the fall and a X-Mas tree in the December.
In Vermont our orchards have pickers for bulk shipping but most have pick your own on the weekends. It is a fall tradition here.
It happens to me all the time. It's hose moments where you are not looking for one thing but another and that small, happy accident happens and you just get the happiest smile on your face. :) Blessings!
Mike, when my kids were little, we would go pick apples every fall. Then we'd go home and make applesauce. It was always great fun.
That's funny. We live in a citrus grove and honestly, I don't really think much about going out and picking the fruit. I would rather give it away than let it rot. Anyone interested in picking some? Shanna
Hi Mike - I've received my I.R.E.S. Designation in Vancouver, BC, Canada and I noticed that you have similar designations. I'm messaging you because I want to expand my international connections. I'm presently building a larger network so that your listings can be featured in my city (for an international exposure), and mine can be featured by you. Presently I have approximately 20 listings which might be of interest to you.
Interested? Look forward to chatting some more with you with respect to co-listing each other's properties, if you are interested in speaking further? Cheers, Jark.
Fun read Mike. There are several apple orchards in my area where you pick your own, it's fun.
Mike, We have a fair number of pick your own type places around here. Be it apples, berries or other produce, you can bet they get people out in the fields and orchards doing the work :)
Hi Mike. The apple crop is about 10 days early in our area.
Morning Mike that is the American way if one idea doesn't work simply change the wording and there you are at a new crossroads in the adventure
Good morning Mike. The irony of this isn't lost on me. Life changes and not aleways for the better, but change is a given. Enjoy the day.
Erv, that's exactly what this smart farmer is doing.
It's turning into big business locally, Andrea. Have fun!
It has become that way here too, Dana.
There you go, Laura. Happy Sunday.
Great, Lucas.
That sounds like fun, Tammie. Our boys did similar things. Always a good family adventure.
I'll be right there, Shanna. 8-)
It's growing here too, Roger. It's a big day for kids.
It does make me chuckle, Bliz.
We have a season that starts in August and ends in October. It's a pretty long around here.
That's it, James.
Ironically, Sheila, these farmers have been able to adjust a bit and still thrive in their businesses. Everyone seems to like it.
Good morning Mike,
Fun post, I lived near a strawberry farm years ago and it was fun (labor) to pick them!
Like many others here, we have several apple orchards and various farms in the area where it's pick-your-own (or you can also purchase already picked). I do think there's an added satisfaction when you pick your own.
Lisa, my boys loved picking their own when they were small.
My kids loved it too, Peggy. We still pick our own, but the family still has an orchard. 8-)
