GO AWAY!
In Part 1 of Go Away! Be Happy! Life is Good! I wrote about how essential it is for a REALTOR® to get away from business for the purpose of self-renewal. I came back from my travels more refreshed and motivated to be the best I could be in life and in business. Here's what happened within 20 days.
August 13, 2012: 2024 Winding Creek in Flower Mound went on the market. I am the listing Agent. From the time the home was listed until now, here's what happed:
-
Owner did what he needed to do to get the property listed in MLS.
-
I marketed the property to get exposure and results
-
I went away between August 17 - August 25
-
There were 52 showings
-
There was one Keller Williams Office Tour
-
There were several prospective buyers
-
On August 31 the Seller had an Executed Contract

BE HAPPY!
We all know that life IS short. Time IS of the essence. I say, DO what you have to do NOW before it gets TOO late! Next year at this time the Seller will have moved on and the Buyer will be enjoying their beautiful new home and pool.

LIFE IS GOOD!
The only person who can make you a slave of your labor is YOU! Today's technological advances makes it possible to conduct business away from the office. If a person is confident and implements a plan to get something done it IS possible to achieve results.
While I was away I looked deeply into the windows of my soul and I saw opportunities to pay attention to the things in life that really matter to me. I listened to the sounds of nature and I heard stimulating sounds that served as a reminder: Relaxation is not a luxury - it's a requirement. My sensory skills were sharpened through the cool breezes in the trees, the sights, the sounds, the beautiful things I saw - how I felt in the moment is what really matter. Life at home away from the office goes on and you can't control everything.
When you do the right thing for yourself and others you are FREE. Today is Sunday, a day of rest. Here in America, we are celebrating Labor Day Weekend. May you have chance to pause and reflect on what's most important to you. There are always windows of opportunity. When you look deeply into the well of your soul, you will realize YOU are not a slave of your labor. Only YOU have the power and the authority to do what you need to do. Please DO it now.

Patricia ...We are getting ready to go on vacation in a couple of weeks ...I can't wait!
HI Roy,
Have a great holiday weekend Roy!
Thanks for the pretty purple flower!
Michael,
I wish you many opportunities to find time to breathe, rejuvenate, reflect, relax and rejoice!!!
Rob,
That's great news! I hope you have a wonderful vacation and in your absence, may your business continue to run seamlessly for you.
Have fun!!!
Patricia - You are right, the real estate world does not stop spinning if we take a few days off. I'm about to embark on a 15 day trip--my business will be in good hands with my son at the helm. Just do it!
Patricia,
Oh, so true, it seems to me that we are all on the same wave lenght, I just wrote about the luxury of disconnecting, and this is what we are doing this holiday. All the best and thanks for all your inspiring posts. A
Congratulations, Patricia,
I am sure your sellers were happy with the result.
Have a great weekend.

AYYYYMEN!
Love and light,
Laura
I love the way I do business. My computer and phone keep me connected and I do not have to be in an office to conduct business and take care of my clients.
Yes, good for you to see the light! Today i told someone i was taking the day off and I would help them tomorrow! At least that's one day off this weekend.
Morning Patricia as always a thought provoking post. You are such a great ambassador for Life Is Good and I for one appreciate it.
Patricia, I enjoyed reading Part 1 and 2, "Go Away, Be Happy, Life is Good:... Great lines.... "May you have chance to pause and reflect on what's most important to you. There are always windows of opportunity." I do so agree!
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is leave. I know that seems to always make my phone ring. Lol. Congratulations to you Patricia...the pool looks like a beauty - I'll be those new owners are splashing around in it today.
Patricia: Just as you stated, with technology available today you can conduct business anywhere.
Definitely a suggest.
Good Evening Patricia, That is great news. I loved part 2 as much as i did part 1. It is inspirational..... I have to say i LOVE that pool. Have a great Monday
Hi Patricia, Congratulations on your listing went under contract. As I grew older I learned to enjoy each moment of the day.
Patricia, so glad you got to get away for your well being! It is a beautiful when you list such a beautiful home, gets many showings, and goes U/C quickly! Congratulations!
Patricia-I am with you 100% on that one. Your business really won't end if you take a break. So many agents can't delegate or are too insecure sometimes to leave. I remember a vacation I promised to take with my sister back in 2002 for 10 days and had a lot going on then. We went to the Caribbean for 10 bays and I came back to 11 solds with $270,000 in commissions! Just sayin....
