ROCKVILLE, Md., Aug. 28, 2012 - Rockville's F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre will feature two shows in September, each of which will perform for one weekend only. The Victorian Lyric Opera Company will perform The American Maid, and The FINEST! Performance Troupe will perform Fathym the Rhythm of Fashion. Both performances will take place at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive.
The Victorian Lyric Opera Company will present a concert on stage with full orchestra and singers which will take place Friday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. The cast includes New York socialites, English aristocracy, factory workers and soldiers. The story moves from a Fifth Avenue mansion to a glass factory in Cuba. Sousa combines European opera traditions with elements drawn from Gilbert & Sullivan and American popular music, including early ragtime.
The award-winning The FINEST! Performance Troupe, back from performing in Pinneberg, Germany, will perform Fathym the Rhythm of Fashion which will feature locally designed fashion combined with dance. The show will take place Friday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m.
Assigned seat tickets may be purchased in person, by telephone or by mail order at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre Box Office. Tickets cost $12 for children 12 and younger and seniors 60 and older, and $16 for adults.
