The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show is just around the corner.  People will be arriving from all points around the globe to buy and sell hundreds of millions of dollars worth of precious stones, dinosaur bones and assorted expensive paraphanalia.

I thought I'd set the tone by introducing you to a very special Tucson home, built by a man with a passion for rocks.  Special rocks.  Lots of 'em.

The rock houses we have in California are normally surrounded by the police.

Take care!

Hey Mike - I think this guy must be related to Kathy.  When we travel we always seem to come home with a truck full of rocks.  One reason we sold the trailer and bought a DP (needed more umpf and storage space).  Now, I just toss them when the boss isn't looking.

Mike, Very cool. This reminds me of the Stone Castle in Miami. From my understanding to this day know exactly knows how this man built it.

Mike,

Great RES!

Thanks for rocking my world!

You also show that it pays to dig deeper into RES for really good tunes.  Good choice!

Mike

RES has a lot of good tunes; I would like it if Jeff Turner's people added some more offbeat tunes.  Thanks for commenting.

Matt,

I've read about that castle in Miami. Perfectly balanced stone gates that weigh a ton, yet move with the gentlest push.  I'd like to visit it one of these days.

Linda,

You mean you don't want to buy it?!

Jesse,

Kathy better not catch you tossing her favorite rocks!  Does she frequent your blog?

Robert,

Thanks for being the first to comment.  You take care, too.

You "ROCK" Mike!  What a fun post.  My boys would love to see this.  They have been known to collect their share over the years.  I've found them in pockets, under their bed, in drawers...well you get the picture.  Have a great weekend!

What a rocking good time!  I have a cocker spaniel who loves rocks and will keep a stash under the bed.  I like rocks too, and whenever I travel to a different place, I must bring back a rock.  Once, I went to Missouri and was going to bring back a rock from a theatre there but found that they were all cemented to other rocks, so I guess I wasn't the only one who had that idea and the owner decided to put a stop to people getting his rocks.  LOL   BTW, I got one anyway!

She does read it, and yes, there will indeed be the devil to pay... but... I'm on your blog, not mine. :)

Mike, I love the amount of blues in the rock house. I am amazed at the colors in the rocks in your area.

I'll be back tonight to comment.  No, this isn't my house, though.  I'm going to interview the owner at length, and write a post about him.

Nice post, Mike. You are observant and interested in your environment - good traits, especially for a writer. Thanks for the glimpse into someone else's passion. I've been known to sneak a few rocks home myself!

Mike, What beautiful rocks! And a wonderful post! Even if they aren't yours, it is still nice that you were able to make such a fabulous RES...I think it is so funny that someone else loves to make these shows! At one point, I was sitting in my office and the manager came by and made a comment about how much time I was spending in the office lately---he thought I was there because I didn't have any houses to look at or customers to take out to show around. But, nooooo; I was at my desk because I was making another show!!!

By the way---how do you open them so that someone can just click on the picture?

The other day, I said to anyone who would listen:"....Help! I can't stop!!!!!"  I was on my umpteenth RES and it is true..I couldn't stop!
