Cincinnati Hosts Oktoberfest Zinzinnati September 22-23 2012
Hoist a stein, flap your arms for the Chicken Dance and enjoy Cincinnati's version of the German Oktorberfests, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati USA. Centered on Cincinnati's Fountain Square, the location is perfect for the 100's of thousands of people that come to party every year! Now in it's 37th year, this is the 2nd largest Oktoberfest in the WORLD! You'll have to go to Munich if you want bigger!
Featuring Beer, Brats, Beer, Metts, Beer, Creampuffs, Beer, Black Forest Cake, Beer, Potato Pancakes, Beer, Sauerkraut and Beer!
Okay, so really there's a LOT more to Oktoberfest than just the BEER! (although there is typically more than 800 BARRELS of beer consumed at this Oktoberfest!). There's actually quite a bit of entertainment! Bands, dancers, weiner dog races, YES, weiner dog races! Now you know THAT has to be a blast to watch! Last year it was Cookie, Buster and Bella for win, place and show!
With seven stages of live entertainment (German music and dancing), and 30 food vendors, you can see why so many folks visit every year!
There's actually a "sneak peek" starting on Friday September 20th (noon is the Running of the Weiners!). The sneak peek is noon- midnight. With German bands, food and beer, along with the Gemuetlichkeit Games
Then you can be back for more Saturday (11 a.m. to midnight) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 10 p.m)! Admission is free, parking is about $5, and how much you spend on beer and food is up to you!
Also on Saturday, the Samuel Adams Beer Hoisting Championships! That's a skill set not everyone has! Don't spill any!!!
And of course at noon on Sunday is the World's Largest Chicken Dance! And always led by a celebrity of some sort....Weird Al Yankovic, Mini-Me, Davey Jones and more.
