27 Comments on HAY HE KNOWS THE HORSES MOUTH
Richie I remember my Dad suggesting it's better to get it from the horses mouth......of course I had no idea what it meant at the time but he taught us well. I can still hear the MR ED theme song in my head....:)
Hello Mark...Be advised that the ACES as they are called in the business command good tips....via their services which usually exceed expectations and minimally meet them...every time...You cant go wrong here...Have fun Mark
Michael...That phrase my friend was in affect long before the show. They just built a show around the concept which if you watch any episode, works really well. There are times when "ED" speaks and I like the times when you expect and want him to speak and he doesn't....That is his horse sense. We call it common sense in the human realm
I am nothing without you said the Bee to the flower....I have to agree too. Without your support, things go away. With support they stay. I enjoy you enjoying me and I thank you. On the old 50's shows, they were the best because TV was new and creativity was exciting. Father knew best didn't he Ashley?
Michael Jacobs...there are groups that gather around the other end of the horse and believe everything that comes out of it....All I can say is WHOA to it all...lol Thanks for the superior chuckle my friend...well done
Anthony...the sound of a donkey braying when scientists finally cracked the code turned out to be the words HEE HAW...of which in my world escapes me completely. However, in the world of the Jack"ASS" (pardon me), it means something...thank you...P.S. Michael rules..
Maureen a posts best friend hi there....Makes perfect sense that comment of yours. On Mr. Ed being smarter, it comes from a diet of eating more apples, no meat and lots of grain. Wilbur was right when he called out to Mr. Ed using the word HAY Hey as in Hey Mr. Ed...they got along real well
Nan offers a word to the wise "listening" which is a word everyone thinks applies to the other person...Good one Nan
Anna Ms Banana Queen...If used properly, the phrase delivers well...Its funny how you can hear the Mr. Ed song (a horse is a horse of course of course etc) where when I visit with you, I hear the Chiquita banana song...
I'm Chiquita ANNA banana and I've come to say - Bananas have to ripen in a certain way - When they are fleck'd with brown and have a golden hue - Bananas taste the best and are best for you
I have always gone straight to the source when critical information is needed. Otherwise, you look like the other end of the horse
Hello Harry...your comment says it all..."go straight to the source" and it is not the wrong end of the horse unless of course.....that is what is guiding you...
Not sure I like being compared to a horse, but I would agree go to the best source. That would be an experienced agent in your market.
Tammieeeee.....you would be in the Pegasus class of horses...a good thing...relax
Hey Richie... I remember Mr. Ed... he was really cool, just like you.... Happy Day
As usual Richie ... a well-written and delightful piece of insight offered. Plus, who didn't like Mr. Ed?? We're sure showing our age, right? But I know I yearn for the simple, non-offensive, gentler delivery of life's lessons provided through that show. Humorous, and so much more kindly offered to every age ...
Gene
Richie, When you're looking for accurate information, rule of thum "go to the horse's mouth" yes indeed, that works!! Similarly, when you want to eliminate something or problem, go to the root, rip it off!!
Richie, Much better from the mouth than the petutie! For sure...congrats on the feature, enjoyed your post.
Beth...it takes one horse to know another....Beth, your next bunch of carrots are on me...
Gene...why is it every-time I hear from you, I wish you were my neighbor? Why?
Beth attagirl Atalay...your comment includes two good points..I add a third...Call Beth A... right away
Wanda could Can...you make an excellent educational point and so that others CAN (from Wanda can) appreciate it, I will expand..Wanda mentions Patutie or patootie which is a persons or an animals buttocks...Proof that once again ladies and gentleman..... ActiveRain does not disappoint
BECAUSE I WAS FEATURED and TO CELEBRATE...HERE IS A LITTLE BONUS...THE MR. ED SONG with special mention to Gene, Anna Ms Banana, Ashley, Arizona Michael, Maureen, Beth, Gene the mortgage machine and all lovers of the 1950's shows...wherever you are, take a moment and sing outloud the following right here and now...begin
A horse is a horse, of course of course,
and no one can talk to a horse of course,
that is of course, unless the horse,
Is the famous Mister Ed!
Go right to the source and ask the horse.
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
Talk to Mister Ed.
People yak-it-ti-yak a streak
and waste your time of day,
but Mister Ed will never speak,
unless he has something to say...
A horse is a horse, of course of course,
And this one will talk 'til his voice is hoarse.
You never heard of a talking horse?
Well, listen to this...
I am MR. ED
Well said! And, I loved Mr. Ed! A horse is a horse of course, of course....
Specializing in one area is, indeed, the best resource for those looking for the specialized agent, lawyer, etc.
"In horse racing circles tips on which horse is a likely winner circulate amongst punters. The most trusted authorities are considered to be those in closest touch with the recent form of the horse, i.e. stable lads, trainers etc. The notional 'from the horse's mouth' is supposed to indicate one step better than even that inner circle, i.e. the horse itself."
Paula...I can clearly hear Mr Ed say..... WILBURRRR....Paulaaaaa I love you too
Carla M. Jacobs...Superior commenting, educational, informative and it compliments the post. Co-hosting rights granted
I like your thinking! You are right, it's best when the horse is involved!
And I can still sing the Mr. Ed song from memory! Along with a few others...
Hello Jay...glad to have you visit with me....You would be the "horse" or go to for your industry BTW
