 Fixing Photos Using Ribbet.com

This was a photo I took last fall and never used because it had telephone wires (which I detest), was over exposed with heavy sunlight overhead.  However, I was playing around in Ribbet.com and decided to try a few things.

This is the original photo - notice the telephone pole and wires on the right and some junk ooff to the right..

First I decreased the “exposure” and enhanced the “contrast”. It helped. Then I increased the colors using “saturation” and “temperature”  Getting better. Next and most important, I cloned out the telephone pole and wires on the far left and some junk on the right-hand side of the photo. (Play around with the clone feature. It takes some practice, but it’s not too hard to master.)

Last, I used the Sepia feature found in "Touch-up" to give it an old look (which wouldn’t have worked with the telephone wires)…

Now apply this to your MLS photos. You may find you can salvage a not so great photo using Ribbet.com rather than going back and retaking a new photos.

Some more photos and collages I edited using Ribbet.com

I made this colorful collage of my favorite flowers...

Turn your photos into art using Ribbet.com. It's fun, creative and can salvage almost any photo!

Very nice. I had to scroll back up to make sure I was looking in the right place to 'see' where the light pole 'was'.

Another program to master....okay...get marginally good at.  ;-)

Abolutely a wonderful tutorial on the perks of using Ribbet.  I am becoming increasingly enchanted with the application!  I've been using the decrease in exposure, contrast and saturation on my photos for a few years now.  BUT, I had been doing it in PaintShop Pro and Photoshop!  It makes for a much more desirable photo whien these steps are sometimes taken.

Hi Kristine, I took a picture the other day and was so upset that the light post from the freeway showed up. I will go to this site and try to remove it. You did such a great job and I like the collage you made also as it is so unusual and iPiccy doesn't have anything so unique as this.

Thank you for all your comments and I'm looking forward to checking out Picmonkey, ipiccy.com - thanks for the tips! It's hard to break away when you know a photo editing program really good. Ribbet.com is exactly like the old Picnik with all the same features. It's time this old dog learned some new tricks like Photoshop. I used to work with it all the time but have gotten lazy. I'll post in the future using another program and see how the results compare.

Anyone who knows of a great photo editing program, please share. We all should edit our photos and the more programs to choose from the better. Thanks again for all your comments - I appreciate them all and hope to see you on your blogs later today!

Hi Kristine,  I am going to try this.  I get a lot of over-exposed photos because of the bright sunlight we have here in south Florida.  Thanks!

Reblogged with this commentary... I love to watch Kristine's photos on Active Rain. I wondered what post Picnik product she preferred. Check out her photo editing tips below. She shows you how to make your photos glow. I have several products I want to check out soon! No wonder I want your stuff for my Evernotes photo!

I LOVE Ribbet...I was paying subscriber to Picnik and when they shut down I was really at a loss.  So happy to have them back via the new Ribbet.

Another site I use and recommend is Gimp....it's more advanced (more like Photoshop) and I've only learned basics.  I've figured out enough via Youtube videos and trial and error to  "photoshop" fun pics....people's heads on other bodies, etc.

Kris, I love using Ribbet.  Picnik is a dim memory now.  I also like PicMonkey for a few different effects.  Lovely photos as usual.  BTW, how is your lovely Lucy doing?
