3 Comments on (Renters) Are You Better Off Than Four Years Ago?
Hi Mike, We are seeing renters now move into home ownership again.
Renters and everyone else need to take a DEEP look into themselves honestly to answer the better off question. How does a person describe being better off between renting and owning a home that is under water.
To me, the owning is still better as the value is going to goup and is already. Renting, you are jsut throwing away the money
If you're underwater in a home you like and can afford, the underwater part does not affect lifestyle. That's why it's so important to buy carefully and only buy a home you feel you'll be able to enjoy for a long time if necessary. My "starter home" lasted 27 years with no regrets. Many underwater homeowners who didn't buy for possible long term occupancy are suffering from past poor decisions.
