Schedule of events for Saturday September 8th for the new Frontier Ice Arena. Grand Opening is from 9am to 9pm

 

The long awaited day is finally almost here for ice skaters here in North Idaho, Saturday has a very full schedule with something for everyone.  The doors will Curlingopen at 9am with free public skating from 9:15 to 10:15.  A free BBQ will be going on from 11am to 3pm.  From 11am to 11:30am you will be able to watch a Curling demonstration.  A Figure Skating/learn to skate demonstration will be from 11:30am to 12:15pm.

 

Sled HockeyA Sled Hockey demonstration is scheduled from 12:30pm to 1pm.  Sled Hockey is a sport that was designed to allow participants who have a physical disability to play the game of ice hockey and was invented in the early 1960’s in Stockholm, Sweden at a rehabilitation center and is currently one of the most popular sports in the Paralympic Games.

 

Ice skatingContinuing on in the afternoon will be free public skating from 1pm to 2:30pm and then again at 3:30pm to 4:45pm and closing the day from 7pm to 8:45pm.

A Broomball demonstration will be mid afternoon from 2:30pm to 3:15pm.

And of course for all the people that are interested in ice hockey a Youth Hockey demonstration will be at 5pm to 6:45pm.

 

This promises to be a super Grand Opening and you will want to come on over and see the new arena and take in the demonstrations.
