very important info indeed. I always find it amazing to listen to out of area or out of state buyers rave over how LOW our taxes are.... so I'm always curious what they are in other places.
Taxes can be so confusing to buyers -- how they are calculated, when they are due, why do they vary from county to county. Seems like your clients/customers have a good resource in you to provide these answers!
THis is a great post. I am sure buyers, and sellers will find it very helpful. My clients always ask me a lot of questions on that subject.
Thanks for sharing and have a great week.
Gene, congratulations on a well deserved feature for this information loaded post. Everything you need to know about your local taxes in one place. All of the links are so handy and you are fortunate to be in a county with the free seminars to help citizens better understand their taxes.

Tammy: Unfortunately, Will is not known for its low taxes, such as your area's. But it has real positives too. It's a quickly-changing, quickly-growing extreme south area of Chicagoland ... with lots of businesses finding it ... and lots of new housing. One of the fastest growing in the country, in fact. Lived here all my life and have seen amazing changes ... and predict far more in the future.
Carla: Definitely right about taxes .. and every topic surrounding them being very confusing to people. Especially the fact that you protest the assessment when it comes out, not the tax bill itself. Definitely an important piece of info ...
Tatyana: Thank you! Your clients are lucky you have a grasp of the topic to help them with ...
Thank you much, Mona! The better educated buyers/honeowners are, the easier and more fun our jobs are. Hope this info proves beneficial to those in the Will County area ...
Nick: Glad I could help! I'm sure McHenry County will be glad to see your check!
Richie: lol Each time you write "the mortgage machine", you remind me of my very first boss. I started at the S&L back when "Gene Gene, the Dancing Machine" was on the Gong Show and a big hit. He used to call out to me using the same tag line ... good memories ...
