Welcome back, everybody! I hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day weekend as much as I did.
I took advantage of this three-day weekend and decided to disconnect and get out of town. I headed to San Juan, Puerto Rico with two of my closest friends for some much needed R&R. We lucked out, and had perfect weather -- no tropical storms in sight!
As I took this picture from the balcony of my hotel room, it dawned on me that I really ought to “stop and smell the roses” more often than I do. It’s so easy to get caught up in my job and everything else in my day-to-day, that I sometimes lose perspective and forget to appreciate the small things. There’s so much beauty in the world that we all have yet to experience. I thought I’d share the photo with you as a reminder of this very important concept.
Stunning view, don't you think?
Leonardo da Vinci once said the following. He was a clear genius, and I couldn’t agree more with him on this one.
"Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer; since to remain constantly at work will cause you to lose your power of judgment. Go some distance away because the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance, and a lack of harmony or proportion is more readily seen."
