Everything is bigger in Texas and that includes the new 117,800 square foot HEB Plus store under construction at the southwest corner of Lakeline Boulevard and U.S. Highway 183! Barshop & Oles Company is excited to have their new center anchored by HEB Plus!
H.E. Butt Grocery Co. is outdoing itself in the largest ever Austin investment for their company. The expansion and remodel efforts touch an array of stores. They are remodeling some stores such as 10710 Research Blv. in N. Austin and others in Bee Caves and Lockhart. They recently remade its store at N. Lamar Blvd and Rundberg Lane to cater to Latino customers. They are closing their location at 13776 N. U. S. 183 and replacing it with the new 117,800 square foot H E B Plus store that is currently under construction.
HEB continues to be the dominant grocery chain in Central Texas, with 30-plus locations. They do try and serve everyone in the market place; from east to west.
Now if only they can please stop eliminating choices for their customers in the product lines offered. We are consistently seeing their own store brands nudging out other brands that we would like to have the opportunity to purchase. Are you listening Mr. President Craig Boyan?? We appreciate your investing heavily in Austin.... we just want to be able to purchase from a variety of product lines.
Dorie - it's true, everything is bigger in Texas! We don't have a HEB, but we have Costco which is big and I buy way more things than I need. They sell everything at a discount so it's hard not to. However, HUB is huge and could swallow Costco, lol!
HEB is expanding here, in the NW Houston area. Longtime groceries in the area are experiencing some real competition and have responded with new marketing.

That's BIG! And I won't leave the rest of my comment....................;~)
Good morning, Dorie.... wow...that's absurdly huge.... that would make our large grocery stores look like small convenience stores!!!

Hi Roy,
It is gigantic..you will get lost the first few times you navigate through this kind of SF!
Hi Janis,
They want you to do one stop shopping..pharmacy, photos, make-up, food, take away food, etc. etc.!
Good morning Dorie,
HEB is not a big presence here in the Dallas area...it will be interesting to see if that changes in the coming years.
Hi Dorie. I really love that name. Perfect for TX right?
HEB is expanding here, in the NW Houston area. Longtime groceries in the area are experiencing some real competition and have responded with new marketing.
Sounds like a huge grocery store. Wondered what HEB sold, since we don't have any here.
Hi Dorie,
Now everything in one spot. HMMM I wonder what the local Wal Mart Super Store is thinking. LOL
They need a little competition.
Have a great day in Austin Texas.
Best, Clint McKie
