A Little Spice From The End Of The Summer Harvest

From Your Favorite South Central WI Realtor!

Ahhhhhh,,,,.......!  Is there anything better than fresh veggies from the garden?  Oh the flavor!  Something about fresh garden veggies grown by our local farmers just inspires me!  Today, a little home made salsa!

The best part of salsa being home made (besides the incredible burst of flavor) is that I choose the ingredients!  And there will be NO CILANTRO in my salsa!

So, what's your favorite salsa recipe?

I need to do this.  I even have one of those white things in the right corner that smashes up everything (can you tell I don't cook).  But I may be able to handle some salsa.  Sounds good.  Don't you love those Hint of Lime chips too...mmm mmm mmm!

I don't ever use bell peppers in my Salsa.

I do use jalapenos and cilantro! I love cilantro! Most have to acquire a taste for it.

I also add avocados and sometime mangos... it gives it a spicy hot and sweet flavor.

Don't forget lime juice!

LOL!  Sharon, I don't know what it is with cilantro, but it tastes like dish soap to me.  I think you either love it or you hate it.

Amy, you never know when I may show up in send you something to NC!  ;-).

mmmm, mmmm, mmmmm!!!  I do love those Hint of Lime chips!  That's what I ate this salsa with, LOL!  Give it a try Kerrie, with our handy dandy kitchen tools (love my tools) it will be easy!

OOooooooh Susie, that sounds soooooooooo goooooood!  Love lime, love avocados, can't say I've ever had fresh mango, but you can keep the cilantro.  :)  Care to share your recipe?

We don't have a garden, but friends do and out table is loaded with fresh from the garden vegetables. Not the mixings for the salsa, however.

It does the same to me Jeanne and Ralph!  So, what's your favorite salsa ingredient or recipe?

Me too Tatyana, from the sweetest bell peppers to the hotest habinaro's!  Just love them.

So what goodies do they have Ed?  I just made fresh corn chowder for my family last night from all fresh veggies.  That was wonderful!

I know, I know Ellen, but cilantro just tastes like dish soap to me!  I just cannot stomach the stuff.  But I do love guacamole!  :)D

Absolutely Tom!  I would love that.  Come on over to WI and I'll take you to the my favorite farmer's market of all, the Madison WI farmer's market!  It goes around the entire capital and there is almost nothing you cannot find.  Delicious!!!

It was wonderful Conrad and all is very well.  I am practicing my questions and getting organized!  Thank you again!!!

Homemade salsa sounds mighty fine Laura and the pictures just translate into the flavor I can taste in my mouth. Getting locally grown vegetables I am sure makes all the difference in the world....

Oh they really do Joanna, they really do.  It's always tough to go back to grocery store vegies once the season is past.

I know, I know Nick, but I really do NOT like cilantro!  It just taste like dish soap to me.  :6  YUCK!!!

Laura, dish soap??? It's really funny the way our taste buds work sometimes...I need to think about this because I know there's something out there that tastes really bizzare to me.

I love that we can add anything we like.  I like mine with some diced cucumber and diced fresh pineapple and loads of fresh lime juice!    I have a few family members who don't like Cilantro - they think it smells and tastes like skunk!
