Setting up your Hit Router

If you're here because the "Find Homes" search bar on your outside blog is directing consumers to a competitor, don't worry, ActiveRain isn't broken.  The truth is: If you haven't set up your Hit Router "Markets", we have to make sure that the traffic from those "Find Homes" searches go somewhere.  We don't want broken links on our site, so we route that traffic to people who have set up their Hit Router "Campaign".  It only takes a few minutes to set up your Hit Router, and this blog will walk you through the whole process.

You can get to your Hit Router set up page from your "My Home" or "Profile" page.  Find the "Other" link on the left-hand side towards the bottom of the page and click it.  You'll see some new links, one of them will be "Hit Router".  To save time, follow this link to open your "Hit Router" set up page in a new tab.

Now that you're on your "Hit Router" page, you'll see that you have two options: "Start a new campaign" and "My Markets".

"Start a new campaign" will charge you for each person who gets routed from any outside blog to your website, while "My Markets" is completely free.  Your "Campaigns" or "Markets" are simply the cities where you want to do business.

Follow this link for step-by-step instructions on how to set up your "Markets" and make sure your blog always takes consumers to your website.

Follow this link to learn how to set up and manage your "Campaigns".

@Janis:  I've been telling real estate agents to write blogs about the things the get the most questions about for about a year now.  I'm finally taking my own advice. :P  I'm glad this helped you!

@Bruno: You're welcome!
