You always come up with the coolest and most interesting facts about NYC Mitchell..........amazing!
Thanks Roger, There was an article in The Boston Globe recently titled NY vs Boston The End Game.
Here is a quote:
"They’ve dwarfed us in size, eclipsed us in culture, and dominated us on the diamond. And now they’re coming for the one thing we have left: our smarts."
Mitchell,
What a great stat...more students than people in Boston is a definite vow. A
Hi Alexandra, Hope you and Ron had a wonderful summer. Here is another NYC school stat:
New York's public school system has more children enrolled in its public schools than 12 states and the District of Columbia have in total population!.
Some amazing stats for education in NYC, Mitchell.
That's amazing, Mitchell. But, I guess with a population of 8-10 million people (depending on the day of the week), it makes sense that student numbers would be so high. I wonder how many folks who live in the tri-state area, who commute to NYC for work, have their children attend school in the City.... hmmm.
Mitchell, its good to hear that NYU is doing their part with their expansion program to prepare our children for the future.
The links between a well developed educational infrastructure and a strong local economy are many and certainly worthy of our support.
Hi Gabe, Thanks for the re-blog
Peggy, While you have to live in NYC to attend NYC public schools, NYC also has some of the finest private schools that attract students from the tri-state area.
Hi Michael, The final expansion plan that was approved took 5 years and was whittled down by opponents to 26 percent slimmer than the original plan.
Vanessa, Thanks. I agree. it's difficult to expand an urban campus because of the limited space and the neighbor's concerns.
Mitchell.....Because I like you, I will let that comment about Boston go! LOL! Seriously though, I did not know that fact but it makes sense. Much as I love Boston, NYC is great too!
Hi Christine, I like you and Boston too! There has always been a friendly rivalry since both towns were colonies. Because our mayor is from Boston I think he likes to point out that fact.
I had no idea about that...I always thought about Boston and Colleges. Oh, and I love On the Town. Congrats on the feature.
BTW, you could do a post about all the movies in NYC (and another on the TV shows).
Good morning Mitchell. How funny, I was thinking about you yesterday and then Janis reblogged this. Great job my friend.
Hi Debbie, I've been out all day. ThAnks for the comment. I did a blog recently about all the TV shows made in NY on my outside blog not AR> I try not to duplicate content.

Hi Sheila, Thanks to Janis... I appreciate her re-blog.
