Some Home Inspectors offer a variety of services in addition to the basic Home Inspection. These can include a Property Inspection, Environmental Services (mold, radon, water quality, lead in paint, asbestos, etc.), expert testimony and coordination for estimates to repair or improve. These services will be charged in addition to the cost of basic Home Inspection.

As a new home inspector, setting my price was one of the most difficult things to do. I researched it quite a bit and found a vast array of prices. For my sample house I got prices from $200-$450. What I have decided to do, because I refuse to undercut just to get work, is to prove my value. The company that charges $200 and the company that charges $450 both appear to make good money and have busy schedules, so you have to determine not the cost of the inspection, but YOUR value in doing a home inspection. You can get a $2 haircut, but would you?
