LRA HOME is a special program created by Lancaster’s Redevelopment Agency (LRA). We turn foreclosed properties that could have blighted a neighborhood into attractive, affordable homes ready for new owner/occupants who want to help make their new neighborhood a great place to live. 
The neighborhoods these homes are located in have been targeted by LRA for special help. These more mature areas of the City may need a little TLC, but we have great plans for the future. With our help, area neighbors have banded together to create a vision of how things can be. These plans call for solid improvements that can help increase home values and provide a better quality of life for all.
The LRAHome program is open to homebuyers who meet certain eligbility standards.
Briefly these include:
- You must be the owner/occupant.
No investors or co-signers. - Have low or moderate income.
- Qualify for a home loan and have at least 5% to put down plus closing costs.
- Household assets after down payment and closing costs can't exceed certain "safety cushion" limits.
- Agree to restrict future sale to other moderate income buyer or share any profits from sale with LRA.
- Participate in a Homebuyer Education workshop.
