How does my head work and where do I come up with ideas for posts?

If I could explain how my head works, I'd probably be a very wealthy man, but I think I can explain how I come up with ideas for a post and something to write about.

It's kind of like links on a chain:

This morning I wrote a humorous little piece titled A pretty good sign you've selected the wrong moving company.  I came up with the idea for that post quite easily, and was also inspired for a few more.

To explain:  I woke up this morning and saw a moving truck in a neighbors driveway.  The neighbor was outside and it looked like there was an unpleasant exchange between the two gentleman.  Within minutes, the moving truck was gone and within an hour, a U-Haul was in the driveway and they were moving their own things.


Now I have no idea what happened but it made me think of many things:

  • The few jokes that I shared with you in my post earlier today and making bad choices with movers
  • Several of my own moves.  Some done with family and friends and a U-Haul
  • Some with hired movers, my preference is Two Men and A Truck
  • The day Mickey referred to me and one of my sisters as Two Men and A Truck
  • Obviously I thought of Mickey
  • And I also thought of T, my Dad, who was still with us at the time

So there it is, look at all the blogging topics I have, all linked together in some way.
And all this from just opening my door and looking outside this morning.

I'm also inspired by reading other posts and the comments on them, day to day happenings, occasionally a stroke of  genius and I write about something business related (but not too often) or something funny just pops into my head and I feel like sharing it with all of you

I guess it is a little mind Debbie, but it does work.  Unique is an interesting work, thanks, I guess it beats being "run of the mill".........something I've never aspired to be.

Thanks Tom..........I think my favorite posts to write are the ones that I call my "nothing" posts where I write a little bit about 5 or 6 different topics but nothing lengthy about anything specific.  The way I see it, as long as I'm able to "sit up and take a bite" I'll have something to blog about.

Roger I am like you there is always a  connection like a "chain" I read a blog, see something and hear something next thing you know there is a blog...and sometimes Nature trumps all and that blog gets pushed back and another has priority:))

Roger - hmmm so that explains it. LOL.  Love how your mind works. Top line - write about what you find interesting and funny. Things that actually happen to you or that you've observed.  If you found it funny, chances are others will as well.
