I recently Sold a house in the Springbrook Forest Neighborhood of Silver Spring. During the course of the transaction, I made several trips to the house during the course of the sale, for home, well, septic and water inspections. The home is very close to the Kemp Mill Shopping Center where I found a new (to me) gem of a place for breakfast and or lunch, it is the Kosher Pastry Oven and Cafe. I've passed by it many times before - but never had occasion to try it out. This place and the food is amazing. So sorry I didn't discover this little place earlier, it is well known and has been here for quite awhile.
The Cafe is a cheerful, very clean and open place. The menu is extensive and (of course) Kosher, it is on several chalk boards above the back of the store where they make the food. The ingredients are fresh and mostly healthy mediteranian type dishes. I had the Caprese Wrap (spinach, tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil and olive oil), it was delicious! Even the mint infused iced tea I got with my wrap was exceptional!
the Kosher Kitchen Cafe also serves breakfast fare, such as pancakes or bagels with salmon and cream cheese (awesome) and Dinner.
There is a separate bakery area with display case upon case of mouth watering cookies, rolls, cakes and other pastries There are beautiful wedding cakes on display too. I had a lemon tart from here that was out of this world good!
This little off the beaten path place is now one of my favorties!
