For those that have followed my blogs, you know that I have been an avid supporter of the Share Our Strength organization. The sole purpose of this group is to end childhood hunger in the US. Recent statistics state that 1 in 5 children don't know when they will have their next meal. For a country that has so much, this statistic just breaks my heart.

This month is the DINE OUT event. Below are the step by step instructions. I am begging you to help our casue.

Dine Out For No Kid Hungry in 4 Easy Steps

Every September, Share Our Strength's Dine Out For No Kid Hungry^™ brings together thousands of restaurants and their customers to raise funds for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. This year, there are more than 8,000 restaurants to choose from.

Find participating restaurants and check out their No Kid Hungry promotions. HINT: Click each restaurant's location for their details.
Invite your favorite people to join you at your restaurants of choice.
Download 'Thank You' cards to give the manager or your server when you dine out.
Share the experience and spread the word, including the September 17 twEAT OUT.

Repeat steps 1-4 all week long.

Great idea, and giving a little extra for the hungry would be a great idea, too! I know that the Salvation Army asks for donations around Thanksgiving, too, as do the "missions" around here. Those kids should never have to go to school or sleep hungry.

Kathy I wish I had seen this from day one. We eat out a lot..too much and will certainly take part in this event. NO child should go to bed hungry in our great country!
