Doggie Delights in Haymarket:  Healthy Food for More Than Just Dogs

A few years ago, my husband and I were tangling with the problem of chronic urinary cystitis in our oldest male cat.  He had recently had a totally urinary blockage, which he had relieved himself, all over one of my many real estate client folders.  This is a problem can be lethal.  And we didn't know he'd even had an issue.

Thanks to a wonderful vet, we were able to avoid it problem again.  The vet was Dr. Rebecca Verna, and at the time, she still worked at the practice she had already sold, Healthy PAWS in Haymarket.  Dr. Verna gave us the advice of getting off the tap water and going to distilled water.  She also told us to look into grain free cat food, wet preferred.

While we've gotten all but one of our cats over to wet food, one of them still insists on dry food.  And thanks to Nick Verna, who owns and runs Doggie Delights in Haymarket, VA we have them on a healthier grain free dry food called Orijen.  Nick had given me the heads up that Evo, our previous grain free dry food, was recently purchased by Purina and the formula of the food was likely to change.

Nick, just like his wife Rebecca (that wonderful vet I told you about earlier,) really has the well being of  your pets in mind.  When you walk into his shop and tell him the reason for the dietary change, he's able to get you the best possible match for your needs.

Doggie Delights can order just about any food your pet needs.  Just stop by and see them or give them a call.  They are located at 3517 James Madison Highway in Haymarket.  Or you can reach them by phone at 703-753-5255.

Even if your pet has no special needs, the food sold by Doggie Delights is the best to promote good health and a long, healthy life for your pet.  Stop by and chat with Nick and you'll want to give the food you WON'T find at the big pet stores a try.

Susan:  Exactly.  I used to feed our cats a food that was on that recall list YEARS ago when the melamin contamination happened.

Carol Ann:  It is great to have Nick as a resource.  And Dr. Verna is now practicing as a holistic veterenarian down the road a ways in Marshall, VA.

Hi Chris Ann - That's a great resource to have in your area. We had a cat years ago who had cystitis - very touch and go for a while, but he pulled through and we got him off bad food and onto some good stuff with help from our vet and a business similar to Doggie Delights.

Dick:  It's not until you have a pet with a problem that you realize how bad the big brands of pet food are.
