Once again, Tempe Town Lake will host a "healing" field to honor the 2996 people killed in the senseless September 11th terrorist attacks on the world trade center.  The number of people killed include those brave people who tried to save others. 

     This year, nearly 400 volunteers set up the field of American flags - one for each human lost.  I went last year and I cannot begin to tell you how really beautiful and inspiring the sight of all these waving flags were. 

 

    Starting at  5:45 AM Arizona time, the time those cowardly terrorists attacked innocent people in NY, there will be a memorial service.   All of the names of those who perished will be read.  

     Thank you to all who volunteered for the healing field in Tempe.  Thank you to all of the first responders who worked so diligently to try to save people.  Thank you Americans for your loyalty to our country.

 

     To those who lost loved ones in this senseless act, we think of you.

 

     To those who lost their lives - we dedicate this to you.

Juli -  I took my family (they went reluctantly) last year and I couldn't get them to leave!   Everything about it was sobering, memorable, interesting and extremely patriotic.  We left with such a sense of pride and gratitude to our country, to our fellow men and those who lost their lives - on 9/11, before 9/11 and since 9/11 defending our freedoms!     I really enjoyed it and look forward to it again!   Everyone should GO!   Shanna

Shanna, I'm so with you.  The healing fields in Tempe Town Lake left such a memory for me, and, it did just what it was meant to do - help heal a hole we all feel for those who lost so much.
