Somehow I knew that this would be the focus of your post today, Mitchell. You provide beautiful pics, as usual ... along with truths. "Al Quaeda is on the path to defeat... and Osama bin Laden is dead." Thankfully ...

Mitchell....what beautiful photos and what a beautiful tribute. I, too, like the statement at the end.
I also woke up today with the thought that the weather was exactly the same 11 years ago. I remember it so well. I posted pictures on my blog of the 9/11 Memorial that they have in Eisenhower Park, E. Meadow, Long Island. It's really beautiful.
Mitchell, I believe that this was on the minds of everyone.. and if living in NYC everything is a constant reminder.
Nice shots, Mitchell. I so know what you mean about sense of direction. I get disoriented now when I'm downtown and I avoid looking up.
It's good to see the new tower going up, Mitchell. Life goes on! But, we should also never forget this day.

I hadn't been inside the Empire State Building in years. It has been totally renovated and restored to it's 1930 art deco glory. It is also now "green" and quite magnificent.
I knew it was 9/11 and I had a closing but when I arrived at the Empire State Building it really hit me. They not only wanted picture ID and my signature they took a picture of me as well. They also called up to the law firm where the closing took place to alert them I arrived in the building and I am on my way up to the 77th floor. Later in the day seeing One World Trade Center in the distance really hit me again...we will never forget..but we came roaring back! bigger and better! and greater!
I love New York!

Mitchell thank goodness we can look back and say we have rebuilt ..we will never forget that horrid day and the innocent people that lost their lives
