Professional PhotosWhile it may cost you a bit more in the beginning, having professional photos of your Glenview home as part of your listing is something you really do need. Even better, a video to let people feel like they're walking right into your home.

When the photographer comes to take your photos, have a list on-hand of some of the places you love most in the home, and be sure he or she gets good shots of those areas. Maybe your home offers a yard with lots of lovely trees, colorful flowers and a park-like atmosphere. If so, be sure to get pictures of it from various angles. Does the sun rise or set in a particularly lovely way out your back door? Get pictures so others can picture themselves enjoying the beauty of the sunrise while perhaps drinking their morning coffee.

Listings that have high-quality pictures or a high-quality video tour attached, are viewed 60% more than homes with no pictures. I'm sure you've looked at photos that are too dark, the house is full of clutter or rooms look like they're 20 feet long and 2 feet wide because of the angle. You don't want that for your home!

Buyers don't want to waste time looking at homes that they haven't been able to preview online, since that's where most home buyers start their home shopping these days. So be sure your pictures are full of light (natural light, if possible) and are taken at a good angle so it's easy to tell the size of a room. Get rid of the clutter before the photographer arrives and please, shut the toilet lids!

Just remember, a picture is worth a thousand words, and good pictures may be worth even more than that!

I always try to get a pro to shoot my houses.  Sometimes it is a bit pricey..

But in the long run I think it's worth it, Ginger. Thanks for your comment.
