Good morning, Sheila and Larry.... I love the orchards and the farm stands on long island.... there are so many good ones around the Riverhead area.... I love it out east...
Great information Larry & Sheila, apple picking can be such a fun family event.
Thanks for the reminder of something I love doing and haven't done in years. We have so many wonderful orchards in my area............as do you.
Larry/Sheila..this would be a fun way to get the whole family involved. I love fresh out-of-the-oven apple pie!
Larry and Sheila, This is nice local information.
I wish I were there. When we lived in Wisconsin I would make more than a few apple pies and freeze them to eat all winter. Here in Florida, we have oranges, lol.
Good morning Larry and Sheila -
Great information about Suffolk County Long Island U-Pick Apples events. I really like the way you laid this great Localism out. Sadly most of our area apple orchards burned in the spring wildfires. I'm not even sure they will try to restart the orchards.
Larry & Sheila, fresh picked apples are wonderful this time of year, wish I lived closer!
36 apples to create one gallon of apple cider seems like a lot of apples to me. Very interesting information.
Apples everywhere is a sure sign that fall is in the air. Now I am in the mood for some apple cobbler.
Larry and Sheila,
I love all those apple facts, especially 50 leaves to produce one apple. I love apples and John Mc Cormack posted a great apple pie recipe...Great minds, A
I LOVE things like this. Nothing better than fresh fruit that you pick yourself!
Good Evening Larry and Sheila. What a great topic. I went apple picking Tuesday and had a great time. What great information for fall., Have a great night.
Dear Sheila and Larry,
OK - so you are making me REALLY hungry for a new, freshly picked apple.
No joke!
Have a happy day -
Lynn
Hi Larry & Sheila, thanks for sharing the great information about apple.
Larry & Sheila,
You stirred up fond memories of apple picking time. It's the season for change and thinking about staying healthy. I really appreciate your blog post today. You gave me lots to think about!
Have a great day.
Oh, I remember doing that when I was growing up on Long Island. My husband's uncle owned an apple orchard in CT. and we used to go there too.
