Wordless Wednesday (almost!): And s-t-r-e-t-c-h!

While fishing off the bank at Panguitch Lake we encountered a chipmunk looking for companionship food. He befriended my husband and shook his hand took food from his hand. He was as as happy as a sea gull with a french fry chipmunk with a potato chip. He had more than a few!

He really s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d himself to see what kind of nutritional items goodies we had to offer and at one point had his head in the treat bag. It was sad to see him go, it was quite entertaining to watch him maneuver through the rocks and boulders scattered on the steep enbankment. Flittering here and there!

See you later Stretch!

Good Morning Wanda,  Great name for him or her.  I am sure he was entertaining to you.  On a side note, I see on the news you had flooding in your area.  Are you ok and  hope it miss you.

Appropriate name for him Wanda! They are so fast, very flexible and so friendly or should we say trusting? We had one around all summer but suddenly he stopped visiting.....we miss him!

Hi Will, Most of the flooding was due to a dike breach in Santa Clara. The community is now helping to clean up some of the damage. We got a lot of rain in very little time...never a good thing.

Joan, He was very entertaining and we had an amazing day! Caught a few fish from the bank that day but caught our limit on the boat last weekend!

Wanda, while I've seen squirrels sit and pose for photos, I've never been able to capture a chipmunk!  Maybe they pick up the scent of my kitty!

Pat, They are so quick that it makes it difficult to get anything more than a blur! I put the camera on the motion setting and got this one! Lucky for sure.

I get the feeling your husband is not the first person that he begged food off of

Hi Wanda, How adorable your llittle chipmunk friend is. I am not sure I have ever seen one in person here. We have squirrels and skunks but never seen chipmunks, I did not realize how friendly they are!
