Ahhh ... Paperless!

Paperless??!!!!  In a buiness full of legal this and legal that?!!!  Such a difficult task really when you look at all the papers strung across your desk and througout your office.

Conceptually, what a fantastic idea!!!  No more printing, no more ink, no more overflowing shred-it containers or trash can bins.  No more hole punching or staples. No more paper cuts and a lot less clutter.

BUT ... and this is a big but.  As easy as it is to send, receive, sign and ratify electronically - the tricky part becomes actually having to FIND what you need, what you are looking for - a legible copy and having it all at your fingertips.  Now I don't know about you - but for me, there are times, when I am looking at a 80 something page file on my screen and all of the sudden everything gets blurry and my eyes start getting watery and I just can't scroll through one more page.  It is very hard to skip over the whole "let me just print this out and flip through the pages" ideal.

Slowly but surely I am getting there. I am not paper-free but I am paper-less - I do way more electronically now than I ever have before.

There are so many online tools these days to help!  Docusign is powerful, easy and super convenient!  Especially when working with clients who are not nearby and may not be able to print.  What an effective tool to save you time and ... wait for it ... PAPER ;) The world is trending towards technology - why should paperwork be any different?

I don't know that I can ever be COMPLETELY electronic - but I put my best effort into wasting as little paper as possible and making that extra effort to conserve those printing resources.

I totally agree, Heather. I do so much more electronically than ever before, BUT, there are still things needed to keep in paper files.
