Ok, I have to admit.  I started this whole blogging thing a little leary.  I thought I didn't have time for it.  I thought it wouldn't be worth my while.  I thought it would make me unproductive.  I thought, who on earth wants to hear what's in my head and why would I want to hear what's in somebody else's head for that matter??

Well, I've been blogging for a little over two weeks now and I have quickly realized what all the hype is about.  It is addictve.  Once you start, you can't stop. Once you start learning who different people are and reading their posts, you can't help but respond to them.  You connect with them.

So, it isn't about finding clients, although that's what invariably happens.  The connections lead to clients.  What it is about is the connections.  Expanding your world beyond your county, city, state, to include those people who think like you.  Or those people who think totally opposite of the way you do but you read their blogs and laugh in spite of yourself.  Or those people who just need to vent and want a listening ear for a few minutes.

That's what it is about and I have to admit.  It is really cool!

Hi Renae - A great thing about blogging is that a well-written post can bring together a wide range of people for some amazing conversation. When you start to see possibilities like that, it does become addictive.

If only I could convince my wife/Realtor how blogging can help!

01/20/2008 06:23 PM by Joseph McCullen (Silentstill Photography & Design)

Ryan - You're right!  By George, I think I've got it!  ;-)

Joseph - Good luck with that.  Realtors are a breed all their own and some can be extremely difficult to convince about different topics.  Of course, you already know that, being married to one!  (By the way, your photos are absolutely inspiring!)

I am new and trying to figure the whole blogging thing out.I posted one blog about a neighborhood in my area and the local shops and park going up around it. It sounds so real estate though! My plan is too talk about various neighborhoods in different price points and possibly attract relocation buyers with some information and my own pictures of the area, it is actually fun, but owuld like to have a more relaxed blog. It takes time I guess. I will read through others to get ideas on how and what to write about.

01/21/2008 06:38 PM by Barbara Simpkins - Spring Texas Realtor (Keller Williams)

Georgina - What a great article!  Thanks for sharing that with me!  My husband says I'm the Queen of Excuses so here's a new and improved one to add to my list!

Barbara - It takes a little time, especially if you aren't used to writing just for the sake of writing (as in, not specifically for an ad or a newsletter).  But reading through other blogs is a great way to figure it all out.  Also, take a look at the group "Active Rain Newbies" because there are always posts about great blog topics!

Have a great one!
