Sometimes the best response is to . . . . WAIT! before you respond.

Are there times when your best response to an offer made to a Contingency of the Contract is to . . . . . WAIT?

Making tough decisions - Wait.Wait before you reply, take the time to consider the offer of the Contingency made to you.

Rash decisions made on an emotional situation like selling your home, or buying a home need time to ponder.

Take the time to talk the options offered over with a friend, or your better half.  "Two heads are always better than one" as they say.

The time to make your response is after you have taken the time to consider all the options, studied all the pros and cons of the options, and have used common sense and rationalization to reach your conclusion.

If I choose Option 1, what is the worst that could happen? What is the best that could happen?

If I choose Option 2, what is the worst that could happen?  What is the best that could happen?

YES, there are times when your best response to an offer made to a Contingency of the Contract  is to . . . WAIT !!

Bobbie, We often have to advise our clients to back away from their initial desire to respond emotionally and consider how the other side would most likely perceive their response.  That usually helps them collect themselves and get a better response.

Absolutely Bobbie.  The most effective communicators and negotiators are those that listen and then formulate their response before answering.

Bliz, I like that idea.  Consider how the other side will look at your response also. Good point. Thanks for stopping by and leaving that.

Pause, stop and think. Good advice for all big decisions really. And, selling or buying a home certainly qualifies as a BIG decision.  Have a good one Bobbie.

Bobbie- so true- and thank goodness my husband is the one to say "let's think about this."   And like Debb says this certainly holds true for any major decision.
