Realtor Sustainability
The snow, the rain, the winds, the ice, the heat, the humidity, the traffic, the barking dogs, the clutter, the clients, the appraiser, the title company, the contractor, the FAX machine, but the most formidable challenge these days to Realtors is the over-all market itself and one's own fortitude and commitment to his - her own livelihood.
As is normal condition, but more frequently now, many Realtors have been switching from one real estate agency to another hoping that their fortunes may change, or they are MIA's or UFR's (unidentified flying realtors) lost in the horizons due to the TOUGH market conditions. For the home buyers and sellers, it's important to try to understand where their Realtors will be tomorrow. You want to know who's "looking out for you!"
Buyers and Sellers must be assured the following when hiring a Realtor to represent them more so today than ever:
Credentials. Experience (contracts, negotiations, communication, contractor management), knowledge (realty, negotiations, electrical, plumbing, foundation, roofing, basic home care), skills (internet usage, analytical, communication, networking).
Credibility/Integrity. After carefully listening to the Realtor, does she/he sound credible and have integrity, or are they sounding like a car sales person? Determining this requires the consumer to have some experience in judging human character.
At Bat. Does the Realtor say enough key things to make you feel comfortable that they are "Looking Out for You?" Or, are they smoozing you and talking about cats and dogs?
With the market conditions as-is, will your Realtor be around next week or next month to represent you? This is more critical to home sellers to ensure consistent and active marketing of their listed homes for sale. Any fast break in the marketing cycle could mean a dead listing.
Lastly, is the Realtor ordering new real estate business cards or will they be ordering some cards with ABC Car Sales on it?
Note: My new cards in the front of the video: placing another order of 1,000.
Padre Island Weather for Jan. 18, 2008: Low 40's, cloudy, windy, and wet. That's one of a handful of times we'll see this in winter. Now, several more to go and that's that for winter. Short and sweet!
My function is to get Buyers and Sellers together to make a real estate transaction go to closing and fund. All of this as smoothly as possible.
