Mid-September pleasures....

Sunny days, cooler nights, occasional cloudy & showery days, with whispers of "real Fall"...starwatching on clear evenings...the familiar rhythms of daily life (school days, work routines, holiday mode packed away for another year) are welcomed back...it's a season of fruition.

It's lovely to visit Salt Spring & the Gulf Islands, at this time of year. The agricultural world delivers an amazing Harvest experience to us.

This weekend (15/16), it's the wonderful Fall Fair on Salt Spring...underway for over 110 years, now. Each day is different...a terrific meshing of the old & the new island. Don't miss this! Pie ladies, here I come...blackberry...mmmmm!

The 2nd Annual Sip & Savour event is the following weekend (22/23), & you can pick up tickets from the Chamber office (online sales, too). Vineyards (local & B.C.), food pairings (amazing chefs on this Island), & a fundraiser for the agricultural community. Held this year at Channel Ridge Farm. Enjoy!

Something new this year: last weekend in September sees the 1st Annual Farm Tour experience (29/30)...meet the food producers! Lucky Islanders, indeed!

Yes, we are an Island & there are myriad sea oppportunities, but it's not all about the ocean!

This lovely September enjoy the rural pastoral pleasures that also make up the unique lifestyle of this so beautiful island....
