Debb, I would really like to see that in action as to how they intergrate the chickens with their gardens and how clean and orderly it appears.
I love my local organic farm.. and the eggs are so much better tasting! Creamy and rich.. just different.. I only wish i lived closer.. i'd be there in a flash.
Debb, I have friends in SoCal who grow their own produce and have chickens for eggs. Much healthier than the stuff the supermarket sells. And cheaper, too!
That is egg-citing and also very interesting! I hope The Camas Urban Chicken and Garden Tour is a success!
Egg-cellent Debb. Not eggs-actly my idea of a good time, but I'd be supportive.
Debb,
How fun, and when we lived in Napa, we had friends with chickens who produces beautiful green eggs. They were free range albeit fenced in. In our travels we discovered a nursery in Sonoma that had everytype of chicken variety on earth...including one that was a fluffy as a white angora cat...Fresh, fresh eggs are a treat. A
Margo - Agree, I'm into the organic gardening, don't think I'm ready for the hen house. :)
Debbie, How to keep it clean and orderly, that is the big question for me too. Chicken poop all over wouldn't work for me. ;)
Good afternoon Debb,
This sure sounds like a lot of fun! I agree with Ron & Alexandra Farm, fresg eggs are a treat!
Hi there Janis, it will be fun and educational tour. I don't think I'm ready to raise any chickens, but I'm going to try to find local and organic eggs to buy from a backyard farmer.
Debb, I miss our chicken and the fresh eggs but I do not miss the rats that invaded their space. Thats why we gave them away.
Debb, great information on chickens! We have had many of our local cities change zoning to allow up to 4 chickens, no roosters, and the homesteading is really popular!
Debb,
Now that's the American Spirit! This sounds like so much fun and it's educational too!
Going organic is the best way to go. The health of your nation, especially our children depend on it.
Thanks for this great post!!!
Hey Linda, thanks for the visit. I think I'll find a local source too. The few times I've had fresh eggs, I loved them.
Shannon, it's such a growlng trend, I'm sure there will be lots of support for it.
Roger, that's egg-actly what I expected from you. :)
Dick, that sounds like an interesting design. I would love the fresh eggs, just don't want to put up with all the rest that comes from keeping chickens. Although, perhaps there's something I don't know about...
Alexandra, that white chicken would go well with Mac! I think they are interesting animals and love fresh eggs - but don't I have the energy to have a coop of my own at this time.
Debb,
I really like the fresh egg s in the morning concept but I am not so sure I would want a bunch of chickens raoming my yard and home. Interesting concept.
Love your clever title Debb! I've only had fresh eggs once and they were the best eggs I ever ate. I hope the Camas Urban Chicken and Garden Tour was a huge success. I'm sure it raised the bar for what a good egg really tastes like! See you soon Sweetie!
