DocuSign Paperless Challenge Update

 I little over a year ago I wrote a blog post about how we were moving towards being paperless.

Sadly, so far I have not made a large amount of progress, but that is going to change!

Why have we not made a great deal of progress?

When the original post was written, KW was releasing their eEdge program for agents. I have to say, I love the program and the whole package, but in my area we are not using all the features at this point including transactions. Creating and adapting a program for the size of KW is not an easy accomplishment. Furthermore our Realtor association has changed forms and state laws have changed. Not to mention during this time Wendy and I were instrumental in bring in a new franchise into KW.

But no excuses! I do not believe in making excuses. But having new forms being developed take considerable amounts of time. Agents pour over them, making small changes.. then legal counsel rips them apart and fixes them.. back and forth until finally… we have new forms agents can be happy with along with our legal counsel.  

What is going to change now!

Now we have the new contracts and the new franchise. We are working towards using eEdge as a front to backend solution. But, we also have an electronic signature solution coming from our association. Over the last year the Association Board has started working towards a solution, while it has taken some time (also due to form changes) they are almost ready to release an association wide electronic solution. We are so excited! Admitting, they have had a few delays also due to the new forms, but we are almost there!

Other Print Documents

We have made serious progress in the reduction of print materials. I admit I detest paying for printer ink. We are reducing our print everywhere we can, text to sign, faxes even go to email. But I have discovered sometimes it’s just the price of business. There are certain things we just need to print. But we monitor them closely and reevaluate them periodically.
