Happiness in Small Spaces!
No matter the size of your home or any room, make the most of the place you call home! My Mud Room and Kitchen workspace was a little drab and left little to be desired so I thought, why not have a space that would inspire?
Before During After
It is often the smaller more personal spaces I like the best and this spot has become filled with things that make me happy by making just a few small changes. this space was Peachy& Drab and now it is Cool & Calm. In a few easy steps I was able to turn this adorable little nook from a catch all clutter area into one of my favorite spots in my house!
· Color- -Paint, an easy fix that took me less than 2 hours to do myself! I chose a cool neutral with a hint of airy blue…Sherwin Williams Lattice, (SW7654). A slight color change can make all the difference and really change the mood for the better in any space! Try out a few on the wall and see how it works with lighting in your space before you paint. Lattice was the perfect color for this little space & I LOVE the way it turned out!
· Organization-- By adding this bench with baskets that hold shoes, there is less clutter in this area and shoes are neatly stored away and ready to find when we need them. A Coat Hanger above allows for quick hanging of coats or umbrellas.
· Inspiration--- Life & The Key To It! Fill your space with things that inspire you every day. I found a cool antique looking sign that says “Life” and the “i” is in the shape of a key…perfect for a space to inspire every day.
· Accessorize & Soften- -A few throw pillows and a rug to catch extra dirt add just the softer touch and addition of color that I needed to complete the space! I also changed out the hardware to match my new color theme! There were only a few drawer knobs so I was able to choose something unique affordably! I found these at ANTHROPOLOGIE, great not just for clothing but for hardware, housewares, and a few of my favorite things! I love how they pick up every color in this space!
· A View- - Bringing the outside in! Something I love is the view of the garden and the birds right from this very room. My own garden inspired me in this space so that I can enjoy the beauty of nature all year long.
· A purposeful space -I stocked the drawers with thank you cards, postage stamps, and other easily accessible items that I can sit down and use when I need to.
· Things that make me happy- A Photo Board adds sweet memories and images of those that are important to remind me of the people I love. I also love to cook and decorate so I filled the bookshelves with some of my favorites and anytime I pick them up they definitely make me happy!
What I ended up with was a space that not only inspires me....but also makes me very happy!
This little extra space is the perfect to keep me organized, on task, and inspired!
