Some of my best clients found me not because I talked about real estate, but because I talked about my area, my family and heck even haircuts. (Haircuts has become my number one source of phone calls)
Todd: Besides cracking me up, I use you in everyone of my classes as an example by not talking about real estate! You're the best and you know I admire what you do so very much. The other story I love to tell is how we met in person... it's a great story about the power of social media marketing. Hi to the family.
Rene-very clear and to the point, great tips! Adding these small tweaks can make a huge difference.
Your the best!
Adrian: Thanks! The small tweaks and perspectives do make a big difference!
Rene, I am one of those searchers becasue I want an answer wherever I may be. I try to put out some meaningful localism too.
Thanks Rene! great post. I always enjoy reading what you have to share with us. I've been away but perhaps I will be around these parts more often. Looking forward to chatting with you soon.
Best,
Scott
I agree! "Where there's conversation, there's opportunity."
Very True! I am trying to post Localism blogs and I feel it is a great way to have new people find you but also I have found my existing clients enjoy the useful info as well!
A searcher called me the other day. She did a Google search for Brentwood TN home with 4-car garage and my post popped up. I wrote that post almost two years ago but now I have a new client as a result.
Rene: What a great post!
I am very tired. I am not just getting up... I am "still" up... and getting ready to crash.
I just noticed the title of your blog post on the blog roll... and, thinking it was somehow connected to the music group "The Searchers..." I clicked on it. Then... seeing it wasn't... but was about the movie... I was scanning it... and saw the Google quote.
I absolutely lost it. Giggling away... with many of my body parts bouncing around... almost to tears. What a great quote.
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single Google." I love it. Here is an example of what often happens to me when I Google something. It almost DOES feel like a journey of a thousand miles!
Rene...
Very nicely put. Sometimes I feel that I am out there alone and hundreds of miles away from civilization, I have been searching all of my life. Even with all of the technology at hand I have not found what I am looking for!
well google will like this post .. .not the same as a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single Bing!
René, this is a very good point! I think everyone knows at least how to do a search on the internet.
Thanks for keeping us going in the right direction Rene!
Excellent back to basics post on SEO, Rene. You make it sound achievable! Thanks for sharing!
Debbie: And I love your local content... I'm not sure what I'd do now days without search engines! I'm using them literally all the time I'm online.
Thanks Scott! Good to see you here and hopefully we'll see more of you!
Tiffany: Thanks. Localism is huge. Bob Stewart has a lot of great info on it in the Activerain University archives.
Tammie: That's thing, get it out there. It may have to hang for a while but when the questions get asked, you'll have the conversation waiting for them. Congrats on the new client!
William: Thanks my friend. I didn't see it was featured until I saw your comment on my phone!
Karen: Glad you got a laugh... Some friends gave me a wall piece with the original saying on it by Lao Tsu. It struck me how times have changed. I can totall relate to the rabbit hole syndrome and I have found myself many many links away from where I started. Love your post...
Richard: I can identify with that... I also catch myself looking at my iPhone as if it will tell me or the universe or God will tell me where I'm supposed to be and where I'm going. :O)
Mark: :O) Does have a different ring to it...
Michael: That's it! I have clients all the time that tell me how "technology challenged" it is to be online. I laugh and ask, "You use Google, no?" That's about as technical as it gets for the user now days.
Barbie: I certainly hope that's true...
Wayne and Jean: Thanks... With the updates to Google this past year, the best strategy is back to basics.
Lucas: Thanks! I follow the path and share along the way. If we include each other, we're included. I'm no expert, I just take a lot of notes... Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate your share!
Rene: I remember when I was in high school from 1958 to 1961... there was a song out about the author of the original saying in comment #22.
I had heard that Lao Tsu was a party animal as a teenager... and even used to cheat on his girlfriends. The name of the song, of course, was Runaround Tsu - YouTube. <ducking>
Karen: You are a hoot! (meant in the best of ways)... TOO FUNNY! I remember that song too! (Or was that Sue!)
