Late last night, the National Zoo's proud parents, Mei Xiang and her husband, Tian Tian, welcomed a bouncing baby panda cub into the world - about the size of a stick of butter. And while it's impossible to see this little bundle of joy by visiting the Panda House (it's closed to give the pandas some privacy) you can see the little guy on the panda cam (and therefore invade their privacy).
Actually, it's really hard to get onto the Panda cam these days. There is so much traffic that they even set up a second cam, and I haven't been able to get onto either one. But it's pretty easy to watch the video of the whole birth.
Yeah, they are really, really concerned about this family's privacy! I have to wonder. DId Mei Xiang know that her cub's delivery was being videoed and broadcast over the Internet?
OK, Kate future queen of England. Forget the topless photos of you on vacation with your husband. Imagine the tabloids invading the delivery room as you give birth to the heir - or in this case, the spare! Mei Xiang just experienced a real invasion of privacy!
