Yep, that's right.
Claire Hanes helped me slip out of the transaction strait-jacket. It helps me be a better agent.
And that is what I owe my clients, continuously improved agency.
I'm a little bit of a control freak, so sometimes it is hard to let go of details. And I would be pulling my hair out with a few transactions going at one time, and trying to stay on track with buyer or seller, dates and places, vendors and closing attorneys.
Recently our Keller Williams, Cary, NC, office was blessed that Claire Hanes offered to begin contracting to coordinate closings. I knew it was a good thing. But, I rationalized that my transactions were too "unique" to let go to someone else. By "unique," I mean as in David Williams, who is also a great help to me, routinely asking me, "Mike... Where do you find them?" LOL
Then my New Year's 2008 began with an epiphany: It's time. I need some help so I can offer my clients the highest level of service possible.
Enter Claire Hanes, Triple C Closing Coordinator.
She's working at coordinating with termite guys, home inspectors, attorneys, agents, and best of all, ME. Like a walking planning calendar, rolodex, task manager, safety net, document organizer, and record-keeper, she is keeping things on track as spelled out in the contract.
All done with personality and good humor.
I'm teaching her that nagging is actually a good thing: "Just tell me when to jump, Claire, and I'll ask how high on the way up..."
See, if nagging serves my clients, then nagging is appropriate. And appreciated!
