Ever noticed how as you go out to conquer the world, how many people come out to tell you it cannot be done?
Why is that?
Is it true that misery loves company?
Not quite sure why, but I can tell you that I refuse to buy into the NAYSAY, and so should you. We need to contunue to surround ourselves with other people who are succeeding and who will continue to support our VISION, DRIVE & FOCUS.
I have found that by a few simple statements or questions, (that can challenge the individual) that when asked appropriately will SHIFT the person's focus, quiet the conversation or tell you that you should run away as fast as you can.
Here is one smaple Statement/Question:
Statement: Its a horrible market, no one is doing well, right.
Answer: You are right, it is a tough market, but there are people succeeding. Deals are not easy to come by, and they are not easy to close, but clients truly need us, and if we are will to work SMART & HARD, we can earn our UNFAIR SHARE. You in?
We as an industry need to continue to focus on what we can control, and not what we can't. Our foucs should be on being SERVANT LEADERS, with open minds and big hearts, and guess what, GOOD THINGS WILL FOLLOW!
