Mortgage lending is at a 16 year low.  In Miami, Florida alone over 64% of all August home sales were cash deal with foreign buyers.  Americans want to buy homes.  Who wouldn't with prices so low, but banks are just no providing the funds, thus holding back the economic recovery.  Kermit Baker of the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Trends is interviewed in this short video were watching.

Agreed.  Banks could loosen their lending standards, but they shouldn't be as reckless as they were during the boom.  I believe it is hampering the whole recovery.

Hello Morris ... interesting video and the Banks & Lenders will loosen up after they raise the interest rates, they have it all figured out.
