Folks, as of today, September 20, 2012, there are currently 22,041 properties listed on the Triangle (Raleigh, Cary, Apex area) MLS,

If your home is one of these, as you can see, you have a little competition.

With that being said, please remember that perspective buyers want to be able to imagine themselves in your home. What they don't want to do is feel as though they are displacing you. So, if you want a better shot at selling your Raleigh, Cary, Apex area home... DEPERSONALIZE it today!

And, if you want a Real Estate agent to assist you in selling your Raleigh, Cary, Apex area home, give me a call. I'll be happy to help!

Craig - that is always a great tip for sellers to hear, but so often they don't seem to understand OR don't think it will make a difference. I'd say you have, in a very clever and creative way, illustrated this tip handsomely.

One issue a seller may have when they do take down the photos of the family is that the need to paint will be clearly left behind by the faint shades of the pictures that came down.

Craig

Your insight is right on target when we're selling a home is has to be de-personized and prepared to be sold.

Good luck and success.

Kathy - Thank you!

Debb- Good luck getting those sellers of yours to take down those pics! Maybe this post will help!

Nick - It's a tough thing to get people to de-personalize. But when their home is on the market, it's just something that has to be done.

Jason - You have pics of your grandma and grandpa in bathing suits? You scare me more and more every day my friend!

Roger - I'm hearing you!

Alan - Was that ever in question?!!!

Jeff - Clever and creative! I like it! Thank you!

Adrian - What more can we ask for indeed!

Evelyn - Show them! Show them! If it helps you can send checks to the Craig Rutman Early Retirement Fund!!!

Praful - Agreed my friend. Anything that might steer a buyer away from making the purchase needs to be removed.

Kathy - You're going to have to pack those pictures up anyway. Might as well start before putting your home on the market.

Ed - Good point. But I'd rather paint than have my buyers feel as though they're buying a home than displacing a family.

Jill - Score one for me! Thank you Jill.

Lou - Once you've made the decision to place your home on the market, it becomes a commodity. It needs to show its best.

Christine - Ha! Ha! Ha! "de-Craigized"!!! I think Webster's needs to add that to its list of new words for 2012!!!
