Kailua Sunrise

A Sunrise in Kailua is like none anywhere in the world!   It is just and absolutely splendid.

Sunrise Rita Smith's Home

It is not unusual for us to awaken to a site like this from our home in Kaimalino in Kailua!   What a wonderful place to live.  We are generally favored with this kind of view in the winter when we have a little more rain than usual and temperatures in the mid 70's during the day.   Evenings are another matter!   Temperatures dive to 65 degrees and we absolutely freeze!   It's tough to have to put on sweats or a jacket and long trousers to sit in the back yard at such times.   Brrrrrr!

I hope everyone has an opportunity to visit Hawaii!  It is truly Paradise.   And should you choose to stay, give us a buzz.

I used to be stationed at Kaneohe and remember driving back from Honolulu at 2am and seeing people walking their dogs with parkas on.  I had the windows down and thought the 65 degree weather felt good.

We are cooooolllld up here in Mililani/Waipio Gentry as well!  lol!   Hey...for us it is!

See you at the AR Gathering!

That is a great picture and I'd love to be able to see it in person.  I did get to HI about 20 years ago and loved the mornings!  Right now.... it's about 20 degrees outside here.... 65 is balmy!!!

Chris, If you were stationed at Kaneohe, you know well where our office is.  We are in the Aikahi Shopping Center right next to Safeway.  That observation made, I remember when 65 was balmy to me, but living here awhile one's blood gets thin.  65 now is downright cold.   Jerry

Sally, you and Randy have really stimulated a lot of interest in the Active Rain gathering.   What a tremendous service for all of the Active Rain Community.  Don't freeze to death before the 28th!!!!   Jerry

Martin, Don't let anything but fear stop you from coming back and seeing it again.  Why don't you sign up for the Active Rain Sally and Randy are sponsoring on January 28 in conjunction with the Sellebration?   How else can you get a tax deductible trip to Hawaii?

We had to bring out the quilts.  65 degrees, I was watching for snow.  LOL

OK, I know I am bugging those folks in colder regions.  Aloha from Sunny Hawaii.

Jesse and Kathy,  Nope, 65 is cold enough for me.   Any colder and my tush might fall off!

Margaret, Thanks for your hearty welcome.  I am having quite fun with AR.   Keep smiling and come on over to Paradise.  It's a great place, although the flowers in spring in Maryland are really something to behold as well.   Jerry

Kai Lani:

What a beautiful picture. We love the islands. Save us a good spot for retirement. Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. How about this summer, have an extra room for rent. Ha.

Man I was in Kailua in August and my wife and I loved it!  We spent  a week on Kauai and then a week on Oahu.  Kailua was our favorite little hang out.  Great kayaking, great people and great coffee!

Jason, Think you might have the wrong Kailua in mind?   We are in Kailua on Oahu.   Seems as though you might have been in Kailua Kona although it's hard to tell as we too have great people, great kayaking and great coffee!   Nevertheless, I appreciate you taking the chance to reminisce about Hawaii.   Jerry

01/31/2008 02:46 PM by RE/MAX Kai Lani

I was referring to Kailua Oahu!  We spent a great day kayaking on K Bay and even spent the last hours of our stay watching the sunset at Kailua park.

Jason,  The next time you come, let me know and we can chat over a cup of Kona Coffee.   Jerry

Yvonne,  Now I am intimidated!   But you are surely correct, Kailua is indeed no ka oi!   Jerry
