JV Lions Defend Liberty High Honor against Castro Valley 9-14-12

Suffering key injuries the Freshman lost on Thursday 9-13-12 to Castro Valley 27-6.

However, for Homecoming on Friday 9-14-12 The JV Liberty Lions had a great game.

For me as a dad I think this was the game I was most proud of my son. I looked as the boys gathered without the coaches before the game for a pep talk and team prayer. To my surprise my son was leading the pep talk. He is suffering with an injury and had to set out the first quarter (the rule if you miss any practice). However, in the 2nd quarter he was back in at left offensive guard.

However, the real game high point for Nelson was Castro Valley mounted one serious drive. They found they could run up the middle and were starting to work down field. They sent Nelson in as Defensive Tackle to watch the middle. He made no tackles but he jammed up the middle and help stop the drive. He is a big man and there is no running through him.

The Liberty JV 2012 Lions went on to win the Homecoming game 43-0. In four games the JV Liberty Lions have out scored opponents 151-7.

Varsity Lost 40-14.
