Thinking over our own experience as brokers and having done some research into “purchase motivators” we compiled an interesting list of reasons why people are buying new homes right now.
Growing families often trigger a change in living situation. Particularly in the Hispanic sector, buying a home after moving to accept a new job is common. When you consider that 60% of new jobs taken in the US in 2011 were by Hispanic workers, you can see how one segment of the population could have a very positive effect on the housing industry.
Major life shifting events such as marriage, divorce and retirement are common motivators. Right now, low mortgage rates and reasonable home prices are driving many purchases. Investors too see these benefits and are making solid investments at the perfect time.
