Minnesota....Have you checked out your furnace yet?

Real Estate Broker/Owner with WHISPERING PINES REALTY 20398180

This goes true for any of the states that get cold.

The cold is knocking at our doors so get with it.

If you have a Gas or oil furnace...this IS NOT a DIY job.  Call in a professions.  It could save your life and the lives of your family.

Those with wood stoves and fire places.  That chimney needs to be inspected.  Don't wait until the smoke is rolling back into the house.   I had my chimney cover come off mine and I got a squirrel in my fireplace.   So don't take it for granted that it is ok.

If you have a wood boiler, now is a good time to fire it up at a lower temp and check the gauges and the water pressure before you get up to full temp.

A little bit of checking can save a lot of time, money and lives.

Good seasoned wood will also help keep your chimney clean.

This is not only great advice, but, possibly life-saving advice, Bill.  We had a chimney fire once when we had a fuel oil/wood combo furnace, and that was a huge headache...and cleanup.  Luckily, we caught it before we had to call the fire department, too, and it could have been far, far worse.

Great REMINDER for me to start on my fall HVAC service contact list...I provide my unit keys to my service firm along with my tenants' contact information and they service for the fall, change the smoke alarm batteries and provide additional filters.....

Good advice my friend winter will be here before we know it and there will be a lot of people in the cold because they didn't check out their heating system.

A great reminder that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I need to make that call to my HVAC guy to come out and clean up the furnace before it's to late

I did not know that seasoned wood will keep you chimney clean.  Makes sense that the sap is all dried out.  Good tips.

We don't have that problem down here, our heating runs off the air conditioning system.

While the guys are checking out the furnace, have them check the water heater, Stove and any other appliance that may be using any kind of a liquid or gas fuel.
